a super nice MOTHER'S DAY evening... mostly clear skies to the southwest, but still some clouds lingering over the mountains as sunset approaches. other than an impressive build-up of mountain clouds during the mid- to late afternoon, we had lots of sunshine today, and i recorded a high temp of 78.9F (26.1C)... just about normal for this time of year.
there are some isolated thundershowers along the front ranges of the himalayas from kashmir through himachal into uttar anchal, but those will die as the sun sets. honestly, there is nothing to get very excited about weather-wise during the next several days... we'll have a mundane weather pattern which will feature just enough instability to stir up an isolated afternoon thundershower or two. i guess the headline is the intense heat which will be building on the plains of north india, boosting our temps bit by bit, day by day. we are certain to get perilously close to 30C (86F) in dharamsala later this week, for the first time this season.
if you plain to be in the great outdoors... hiking up to triund or further on... just be aware of rapidly changing weather in the mountains, with the potential for a sudden thunderstorm just about any afternoon this week.
SUNDAY NIGHT: becoming clear overnight. not quite as cool.
low: 18C (64F)
MONDAY: sunny in the morning, but becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon with an isolated thundershower possible... especially above dharamkot. warmer.
high: 28C (82F)
TUESDAY: sunny to partly cloudy skies with a chance of a PM thunderstorm. warmer still.
high: 29C (84F)
WEDNESDAY: very warm, with sun and a few clouds. just a slight chance of a late day thunderstorm.
high: 29C (85F)
THURSDAY: partly to mostly sunny with that continuing risk of a PM shower or thunderstorm.
high: 29C (85F)
FRIDAY: sun and some clouds... still very warm. PM thunder risk.
high: 29C (84F)
