the visibility is great this evening, after our showers cleansed the sky of most of the haze and dust. it's mostly sunny about an hour before sunset, after a day that has featured light rain, a little thunder, and then a mix of clouds and sunshine. i've recorded an additional 0.07" (2mm) of rain since this morning's report... and the high temp was a rather coolish 71.8F (22.1C) in the upper part of town.
it may appear this evening that our recent bout of thundershowery weather is over... but actually, the upper-level storm system responsible for the recent rain is still northwest of us... now moving into northwest kashmir. there are a few clusters of showers and thunderstorms from central and northern pakistan and punjab which are moving to the east, and those may affect us tonight. this system will weaken and die out overhead tomorrow into tomorrow evening, leaving us with a continuing chance of a thundershower or two, along with some cooler than normal temps for early may.
looking further ahead, sunday appears to be the best day of the next several, before yet another upper-level disturbance moves in. actually, we have a fairly active jetstream pattern for the next week or so, and that will keep it hard to totally remove rain chances from the forecast. despite all that, there will still be plenty of sunshine to go around, along with temperatures warming above normal again...
