our tuesday really turned itself around, after a stormy start. we managed lots of sunshine after about 9am, with only a couple of failed attempts for the mountain clouds to develop into thundershowers during the early to mid-afternoon. there were a few sprinkles in upper dharamkot though, around 2-3pm. the high temp was 82.4F (28C). in case you missed the morning post, rainfall in the upper part of town overnight and early this morning was 0.18" (5mm).
with a brisk northwesterly flow aloft, embedded with minor disturbances, and all of this intense heat building on the plains, we're going to have to get used to a slight to moderate chance of a thunderstorm or two popping up during the afternoon and overnight hours during the next few days. it does look like high pressure in the upper atmosphere will strengthen by the weekend however, which may stifle those storm chances a bit. still... i'm not seeing any long-lasting rain situations, so if you're going to be adventuring, just be prepared to run for cover if necessary.
although this morning's showers kept temps a little lower than expected today, it's still likely that we'll see the warmest temps of the season thus far during the next several days. the summer heat is now firmly entrenched across the lower elevations of the kangra valley, just in time for the IPL....
TUESDAY NIGHT: mostly clear skies... but with a chance of a random thundershower moving through overnight.
low: 19C (67F)
WEDNESDAY: partly to mostly sunny and very warm. chance of a shower or thunderstorm. should be the warmest day of the year...
high: 29C (85F)
THURSDAY: partly cloudy with a good chance of a period of thunderstorms at some point during the day.
high: 28C (83F)
FRIDAY: still a risk of a thunderstorm, otherwise warm, with a mix of sun and clouds.
high: 29C (84F)
SATURDAY: mostly sunny and very warm. only a slight chance of a PM thunderstorm.
high: 30C (86F)
SUNDAY: lots of sunshine... summer temps.
high: 30C (86F)
