it's another warm morning... my low temp has only been 74.7F (23.7C) during this hour prior to sunrise. skies are hazy, with a some patches of high clouds around.
it looks like we're in line for another day or two with temperatures trying to rise higher than they've been this year, as this unusually warm month of may continues. we still have a broad and sprawling area of high pressure in the upper atmosphere dominating the weather pattern... but there is evidence that it is going to be breaking down by the latter part of the week, which will bring some changes. the first thing that will happen is that colder air will start filtering in aloft, which will make things more and more unstable, leading to an increasing chance of a thunderstorm or two. secondly, temperatures at the surface will cool off just a few degrees as we approach the weekend.
the haze has been thickening day by day due to this stagnant airmass, but a round or two of showers and thunderstorms will do wonders in cleaning things up. right now, i think the best chance of rain is going to hold off until the weekend, but an isolated thundershower or two is not out of the question... even by late this afternoon.
the second IPL cricket match will be tonight at 8PM at HPCA stadium in dharamsala. skies should be partly cloudy and hazy with a temp of around 90F (32C) for the coin toss and start of the match between the punjab kings XI and the bangalore royal challengers.
TUESDAY: partly sunny, hazy and very warm. an isolated thundershower is possible this afternoon.
high: 31C (88F)
TUESDAY NIGHT: slight chance of a thundershower in the evening, otherwise partly cloudy and warm.

WEDNESDAY: a mix of sun, haze and a few clouds. still very warm, with a risk of a thundershower.
high: 31C (87F)
THURSDAY: partly sunny and hazy, with a chance of a thunderstorm at some point.
high: 29C (85F)
FRIDAY: partly cloudy and not as warm. a thunderstorm or two possible.
high: 28C (82F)

high: 27C (80F)
