there is haze, and there are a few high clouds in the area just past sunset this evening. today's high temp was (a much warmer) 84.2F (29.0C), with a sunny morning and a hazy and partly cloudy afternoon. we've now had two days in a row with zero thunder and zero rain.
...but that is likely to change during the next day or so. tonight's satellite photos show a huge explosion of thunderstorms to our west across central pakistan, thanks to the first in a series of upper-level disturbances moving in for the latter half of the week. things have been very stable since late sunday night, but colder air arriving in the upper atmosphere, combined with continued warming at the surface is going to put us back in an increasingly unstable situation effective immediately. there's not enough moisture available for heavy rainfall, but i do expect us to see increasing chances of thundery conditions, gusty winds and some decent showers for the rest of the week. please keep that in mind as you make your outdoor plans.
it was very nice to have a few nights of pleasant temperatures, but now we're back into the warmth of summer which should remain with us right through the forecast period. with this pattern, i don't see much chance of returning to the coolish weather we enjoyed saturday night through monday. the thick of the north indian summer is upon us...
