a very pleasant evening in progress, with partly cloudy skies and a temp of 76F (24.4C), after an early afternoon high of 82.9F (28.3C). there was a 45 minute period late this afternoon when the sky was looking really ominous... dark, with some thunder and lightning... otherwise it has actually been a very nice day. although showers and thunderstorms have been scattered all over northern pakistan and northern india today, we've managed to escape any measurable rainfall (so far).
currently, there are some big clusters of thunderstorms to our west... but they appear to be "hit and miss", so we'll have to see if any of them hold together and target our area later tonight. if we do catch one, we'll see a repeat of what happened last night... lots of thunder and lightning, very gusty winds, and perhaps a third to a half inch (0.7-1.0cm) of rain.
if we don't get it tonight, then we have another good chance of a hefty round of showers and storms tomorrow into tomorrow night, as the center of this latest upper-level disturbance moves through. i'd put the probability at 60-70% of more showers and storms before this system exits to the east early monday. then... a period of more settled weather will move in for much of next week, along with temperatures returning to near or slightly above normal for the latter part of may...
