anything goes... (am.7.may.11)>

skies are mostly clear before sunrise this morning... but a batch of clouds is approaching from the west.  it's a bit on the chilly side.. 59.8F (15.4C).  as far as i know, there was no additional rainfall overnight.  i've measured a total of 0.43" (1.1cm) since the wee hours of thursday morning.

the thundershowers to our west that i was mentioning last evening pretty much fell apart.  what's left of them is now moving into the area, and that's what will bring us an increase in clouds for a while this morning.  from everything i am seeing, the atmosphere will remain unsettled today as the remnants of our recent upper-level disturbance drifts through.  that means scattered showers and thundershowers could still occur, although i don't expect anything long-lasting or particularly heavy.

tomorrow looks like a fine day... as we'll be in between weather systems.  most of monday should be decent as well, but then the chance of a few showers and thunderstorms will increase again, as another series of weak disturbances in the jetstream flow begin to influence us.  the surging and retreating heat on the plains is set to surge northward again during the first half of the coming week... so temps will be on the rise.
