we have that strange mix of dark clouds and thunder over the mountains, a few light showers, and also some sunshine early this evening. our persistent upper-level disturbance remains overhead, and has made for a day alternating between clouds and sun, showers and thunder. our low temperature actually occurred around 11am, during this morning's thunderstorm.
all of north india is celebrating the cooler temps last night and today... as rain and thunderstorms have been widespread from himachal and punjab to delhi and beyond... providing a reprieve from the 42-44C (107-112F) temps of the past few days.
the risk of showers and storms will continue this evening, but then should diminish rapidly overnight and monday, as the atmosphere begins to stabilize once again. high pressure aloft will gradually build into the area this week... allowing temps to rebound from chilly to very warm by wednesday. we should get at least a couple of totally dry days during the coming week, but little ripples of energy aloft will make thundershower chances worth mentioning again by late wednesday. unfortunately, this month is running well below normal in terms of rainfall... and we don't stand a very good chance of catching up during the next 9 days.
SUNDAY NIGHT: thundershowers ending... with clearing skies. rather cool.
low: 18C (64F)
MONDAY: just a slight chance of a lingering shower... otherwise mostly sunny and comfortably warm.
high: 27C (80F)
TUESDAY: lots of sunshine... warming up.
high: 28C (83F)
WEDNESDAY: sunny to partly cloudy with an isolated PM thundershower possible.
high: 29C (84F)
THURSDAY: partly cloudy and warm with a better chance of a thunderstorm or two.

FRIDAY: a mix of clouds and sun... very warm, with a chance of a thunderstorm.
