the temperature is 65.7F (18.7C) just before sunrise this morning, with partly cloudy skies. i recorded 0.06" (1.5mm) from the thundershower that plowed through here between midnight and 1:30am. i was really surprised (as i'm sure you were too).. since last night it looked like all the afternoon/evening thundershowers over the mountains had fizzled out.! we caught a rogue, feisty one though, which drifted in from southwest kashmir before dying.
a mix of hazy sunshine and clouds is expected again today... with temps remaining near the warmest of the year. an upper-level disturbance is developing to our west however, and as it approaches later today, our chance of a couple of showers and/or thunderstorms will be on the increase. right now it looks like the best potential for storminess will come between tonight and early saturday. it won't rain the whole time, but keep in mind that we'll have a 50-60% chance of measurable rainfall during that window of opportunity.
the recent warmth will be tempered both tomorrow and saturday, but it looks like the relentless heat down on the plains will be edging its way back in our direction already by sunday and monday, with a return to generally sunny and hazy skies...
