It's another bright mid-monsoon morning... with hazy sunshine and a few clouds around the area. I recorded an overnight low temp of 67.1F (19.5C), and there has been no additional rainfall since the 1.03" (2.6cm) we received yesterday (Friday) morning. Remember to check the JULY RAINFALL tab above for the latest info on the rain tally.
The ebb and flow continues, as deeper tropical moisture continues to flirt with northern India. We've been in a 'retreat' phase again since early yesterday afternoon, but the next surge of juicy air is on the way, and should lead to cloud and fog development as the morning wears on. Be prepared for shower and thundershower development as well, which could occur at any time. Computer models are all over the place with regard to outcomes/scenarios during the next two or three days, but we should be seeing a general trend toward more saturated conditions... i.e., more clouds and fog -- and less sunshine.
Despite the fact that things are looking more like a typical monsoon season as we progress through the weekend into at least the first half of next week, I still don't see anything more than moderate monsoon conditions. We have a long way to go if we have any chance of reaching the 38-40" (97-102cm) of rain and that is normal for the month of July.
