For the third morning in a row, we have 100% clear skies at sunrise. I recorded an early morning low temp of 64.2F (17.9C), and there has been no rainfall overnight. In fact, we're now going into our fourth day in a row without measurable rain.
The weather pattern continues its transition into summer mode, and that transition is expected to continue right into the middle of next week. Temperatures continue to warm up, from the surface through the middle and upper layers of the atmosphere, as a broad high pressure ridge establishes itself from Afghanistan into the western half of India. Despite all that, we're not entirely free of the potential for mainly afternoon and evening thundershower development over the mountains... so please be aware and prepared for sudden changes if you plan to be hiking or camping in the higher elevations.
There is little doubt that we'll be experiencing the warmest weather of 2012 during the coming several days, with highs pushing well into the 80s(F). And just down the hill in Dharamsala and Kangra it's going to be downright HOT. We may be seeing an increase in the chance of more significant thunderstorm action by Tuesday or Wednesday... but I think by that time, we might be in the mood for a little relief...
