Our skies are hazy and dusty, with clouds and a few peeks of sunshine this evening. There have only been a few sprinkles of rain during the late afternoon, as far as I am aware, along with a faint rumble or two of thunder. Despite the increase in clouds today, I recorded a high temp of 86.4F (30.2C) during the mid-afternoon, which is the third time this year we've reached 30C or greater.
The latest in a long parade of weak upper-level disturbances has been moving across north India today, but apparently the instability has remained below the threshold necessary to get a respectable round of thundershowers cranked up. Also, the moisture content of our air mass is almost desert-like recently, so it has been difficult to produce any measurable rain for several days. The timing is actually good... considering the IPL cricket match in progress this evening -- stunning images of our part of the world on television!
No big changes in our general weather pattern are expected in the coming days... the upper-flow will continue from west-to-east, bringing occasional weak disturbances through the area. But, due to the above mentioned factors, we may not be able to muster much thundershower action. That means we'll see more of this same combo of sun, haze and occasional clouds, and if we're lucky, a period of showers at some point to settle the dust. This streak of above normal temperatures should continue as well...
