Welcome to April! It's fantastic-looking out there this morning, with 100% sunshine and pleasant temperatures. I recorded an overnight low of 54.3F (12.4C), and we're already on our way to what should be one of the warmest (if not THE warmest) days of 2013.
There has been thundershower development over the mountains during the last two afternoons, and we'll just have to wait and see if that happens again today. From data I'm seeing, there should be less instability today, meaning, the pools of colder air aloft have modified a bit -- but still be aware of the potential for a period of thundershowers drifting down from the Dhauladhars during the mid- late afternoon hours.
A new upper-level disturbance is still scheduled to move through northern India late Tuesday through Wednesday. This system is looking very weak, but will provide yet another opportunity for us to pick up a few showers and thundershowers as it passes. Temperatures will cool off a few degrees temporarily during mid-week, but dry and warmer weather will take hold again before the weekend arrives.
