Monday's stats:
Early morning low temp: 54.3F (12.4C)
Afternoon high temp: 71.1F (21.7C)
Rainfall: none
It is partly cloudy this evening, and there are some thundershowers still hanging on in the mountains. I've heard a little thunder here this afternoon, but overall, the sunshine was more plentiful today than yesterday. My high temp of 71.1F (21.7C) is the new warmest for 2013, and just barely below normal for the first day of April.
Satellite photos show a large area of clouds, showers and thundershowers to our northwest over northern Pakistan and western Kashmir. All of that action is being triggered by an upper-level disturbance beginning to drop southeastward into the western Himalayas. Computer models show this system weakening during the next 2-3 days as it moves into extreme northern India, but it will provide us with an increasing chance of scattered showers and thundershowers late tomorrow (Tue) through Wednesday while delivering a shot of cooler air for the mid-week period.
That chance of showers will dramatically diminish starting on Thursday, with a stretch of dry weather expected through the coming weekend. It also looks like temperatures will recover -- perhaps approaching early April norms/averages again by Sunday. Not too hot, not too cold... definitely a pleasant time of the year!
