We have both clouds and some sunshine across the area this evening, with pleasantly mild temperatures. Clouds dominated the morning hours, along with a couple of showers... but we managed to come up with a good amount of sunshine this afternoon. I recorded another 0.03" (1mm) of rain... bringing our total to 0.34" (9mm) since midnight. My high temp was much cooler than yesterday... just 70.2F (21.2C).
The forecast remains rather challenging... as we watch an upper-level circulation over central Pakistan continue to move very slowly eastward. Satellite pics this evening show thundershowers in the mountains to our north and east, with other developing thunderstorms well off to our west. The upper flow is coming from the southwest, so we'll be looking in that direction overnight for the development of any activity that might affect us. Rain has not been widespread with this system... but don't let that fool you... we could still get hit with a wave or two of thundershowers before this system fizzles out on top of us late tomorrow night.
Looking ahead to the remainder of the coming week -- right now it appears that we'll be in a rather typical mid-springtime pattern. Temperatures will again rebound to near normal for late April, while instability mainly during the afternoon hours will keep us under threat of a passing thundershower nearly every day...
