As the sun begins to peek over the mountains on this Easter Sunday morning, we have totally clear skies. My current temp (and overnight low) is a comfortably mild 63.1F (17.3C).
It looks like we'll be able to hold onto really nice weather today, which if I remember correctly, was also the case last year on Easter. A ridge of high pressure is dominating the weather across northern India, and will allow us plenty of sunshine, along with temperatures close to the warmest of the season thus far. There have been at least a few rumbles of thunder over the mountains every single day since last Monday... so keep in mind that there could be some of that again today, along with perhaps a passing shower during the PM hours.
An extended period of more active weather is expected to begin on Monday. A broad disturbance in the upper-atmosphere will be developing over northern Afghanistan and northern Pakistan today and tomorrow, and will very slowly edge eastward during the coming week. With all this very warm air in place, the circulation aloft, along with colder air in the upper-levels will combine to make the atmosphere quite unstable for several days in a row. For this reason, we'll have to be aware of a good chance of some thunderstorm development, especially starting on Tuesday. Stay tuned as more data becomes available...
