A pleasant evening is getting underway... with partly cloudy skies and comfortable temps. The sunshine has definitely been in control for the vast majority of the day, and that helped the high temperature at my place on Tushita Road climb all the way to 76.8F (24.9C). After a cooler-than-normal weekend, we've already rebounded to where we should be at this point in April.
There has been a healthy build-up of clouds over the mountains this afternoon and early evening but so far, thundershowers have failed to develop in our immediate vicinity. Satellite photos show a scattering of showers and thunderstorms all along the outer ranges of the Himalaya, however, thanks to all the warming at the surface today combined with some pools of much colder air aloft. This is the kind of random instability we'll be dealing with all week long... which makes it a very unnerving prospect to take the risk of a shower or thunderstorm completely out of the forecast. Coverage will be sparse... but for those that get hit, it could be a rude awakening.
Despite that thundershower potential remaining in the back of our minds, we'll still be able to enjoy a good amount of spring sunshine, along with temperatures that will be very typical for this time of year.
