There are a few clouds in the eastern sky this morning at sunrise. I've recorded an overnight low temp of 58.6F (14.8C), and only a trace of precipitation since last night's post. I was actually surprised that we only came up with a few very light showers here, considering the fairly widespread shower activity going on in our general area last evening. Our total rainfall over the weekend was 0.42" (1.1cm).
The upper-level disturbance that has been recently influencing our weather has now moved into Kashmir, and as usually happens once a weather system encounters the Himalayan ranges, it is coming undone very quickly. However, the upper-atmospheric pattern is going to remain rather changeable for much of the coming week. That means the flow will be embedded with weak disturbances and little pockets of cooler air aloft, keeping us marginally unstable, and subject to the risk of mainly afternoon thundershowers. We won't get measurable rainfall every day, and there will still be a good amount of sunshine -- just don't be surprised by the sound of thunder or a sudden downpour.
Otherwise, things are looking pretty good... especially temperatures. We've been a bit cooler than normal for this stage of April the last couple of days, but we'll be back right in the range of "normal" for most of this coming week -- comfortably warm springtime temps!
