Skies are cloudy early this morning... and we have a fresh 0.21" (5mm) of rainfall, thanks to the thunderstorm which gave us a very early wake-up call. Lots of thunder and lightning between 5:30 and 6:15am! I have a current temp of 63.0F (17.2C), but my low was actually 57.6F (14.2C), which briefly occurred during the midst of the rain. (now thunder/lightning and a shower again @ time of post)
Well that was round one... now we'll see how much more action is in store for us during the next couple of days (at least) as our latest upper-level disturbance plows through north India. This system is rather strong for this time of year... considering April is the second driest month, on average. It has a lot of dynamic energy wrapped up in it, and a sizable pool of cold air aloft to keep the atmosphere unstable. The only thing lacking is abundant low-level moisture... so that may keep us from coming up with heavy rainfall totals.
By the latter part of the week, things may calm down a bit -- but in all honesty, the atmosphere is going to remain disturbed and rather unstable. That means we can't rule out a round of showers or thunderstorms on any given day... right into the weekend. Temperatures will be cooling down, thanks to the occasional rainfall, but with just a few hours of sunshine, we'll still be near normal for April...
