Totally clear skies at sunrise this morning are a welcome sight! It's also a bit milder... with an overnight low temp of 57.6F (14.2C) here at the top of McLeod Ganj. We've had no additional rainfall overnight, so that leaves our 24 hour total at 0.18" (5mm).
There has been a large area of slow-moving thundershowers lurking to our southwest over parts of eastern Pakistan, western Punjab, northern Rajasthan and western Haryana during the overnight hours. It appears to be dying out, but may allow some clouds to spread into our area from the west as the morning goes on. Otherwise, a rapidly building ridge of high pressure is going to be the dominant weather feature for the next two or three days. Temperatures continue to warm... from the surface all the way into the upper-levels of the atmosphere, so we're going to be be back in the normal range (and above) for April very soon.
Isolated shower or thundershower development is still not out of the question, especially during the afternoon and evening hours, but I'm not expecting anything of much significance until perhaps over the weekend. At that time, a broad, strung-out upper-level disturbance will be drifting into India as it weakens and eventually dissipates. At this point, it looks like there may be enough "juice" and dynamic energy to bring us a couple of rounds of rain and thunder on Saturday and Sunday...
