sunshine dominates... (am.17.oct.11)>

it looks like the sun will have very little competition as it rises over the mountains in a few minutes from now.  the humidity reading early this morning is 50%, and i've recorded a low temp of 59.5F (15.3C).

our recent calm and quiet mid-october weather pattern will likely continue for another few days at least.  although there are some minor disturbances drifting through in the upper-atmosphere, so far, there has been very little in the way of shower development... even in the mountains.  of course that could change on any given afternoon, so just continue to be prepared for the possibility of a quick shower/thundershower if you are planning to venture to higher elevations.

no dramatic changes in temperature are expected... although we'll continue with a general cooling trend as we head toward the weekend.  still watching a potentially stronger storm system for the latter part of the week, which could increase shower chances.  more on that as the week progresses...
