we have mostly cloudy skies and some fog in the area this evening... along with a few showers roaming around. personally, i've seen nothing more than a few sprinkles in the main market area and up towards tushita, but vehicles coming up from dharamsala and the library are wet. today's high temp was 69.6F (20.9C), which occurred during the late morning during a period of nice sunshine.
early risers continue to be rewarded with refreshing sunshine during the first few hours of the day, but nearly every day the clouds start quickly developing before the noon hour. our afternoons and evenings have generally been a battle between clouds and a few feeble glimpses of sunshine, along with random sprinkles, showers and some thunder. what we desperately need is a strong weather system from the northwest to sweep through here and cleanse the mountains and valleys of this lingering low-level moisture which has been so stubborn and persistent since the exit of deep monsoon conditions a couple of weeks ago.
there is a good chance we could see a fairly strong upper-level storm system which could do the trick by the end of this week. otherwise, some dry and warmer air aloft may also diminish the afternoon gloom just a bit during the next few days. confidence is very low for any dramatic changes at this point though, i have to say. patience required...
