a mostly cloudy evening in progress. there have been just a few sprinkles and brief light showers around the area today (so far)... but not enough rain to measure. the decent sunshine lasted only until about 10:30am, and that held our high temp to 68.5F (20.3C).
it is clear that just about everyone is weary and worn out with this dreary weather. it seems to be the topic of discussion everywhere, and visitors and locals alike are pretty much fed up!! weathergeek included. it only makes matters worse to see that beautiful sunny skies have been dominating nearly all of northern india for over a week (and many parts of the south now), yet we here in the mountains continue to miss out.
there are hints of a change around the corner, but i am beyond skeptical about the ability of the computer models, or any of the forecast guidance for that matter, to be able to get an accurate handle on this low-level moisture that has been plaguing us since the monsoon's departure. at any rate, a series of upper-level disturbances will trek across northern india during the latter half of this week, which should bring us an increase in scattered showers and thunderstorms once again. after that, two of the computer models are showing a rather drastic drop in humidity levels in the wake of this system. i'm anxious to see if this pans out, and i bet you are too...
TUESDAY NIGHT: still a chance of a thundershower moving through this evening, then clear to partly cloudy skies overnight.
low: 16C (60F)
WEDNESDAY: some sunshine in the morning, then partly to mostly cloudy by mid-day. periods of fog, with a chance of a thundershower.
high: 21C (69F)
THURSDAY: periods of sun in the midst of clouds and fog. risk of a thundershower.
high: 21C (70F)
FRIDAY: partly to mostly cloudy skies, with a good chance of a few showers and/or thunderstorms.
high: 21C (69F)
SATURDAY: a couple of showers and thunderstorms in the area, otherwise partly cloudy. less humidity???

SUNDAY: partly cloudy and pleasant.
high: 19C (67F)
