it is partly to mostly cloudy this evening, with some haze and patchy fog around as well. there were only a few sprinkles in the immediate area around 3:00pm, and the high temp reached 69.6F (20.9C). in my rain gauge, there has only been 0.01" (below 1mm) in the past three days... although i know there has been measurable rainfall in other parts of the dharamsala area.
the clouds and fog were as thick as ever on a couple of occasions today, but we also had several glimpses of sunshine from time to time. satellite pics continue to show nice clear skies across the vast majority of northern india, while a narrow strip of cloudiness hugs the front ranges of the mountains... as has been the case for many days now. it seems that we are all just resigned to the reality that we are being seriously deprived of the crisp, blue skies of early autumn this year.
there is an upper-level disturbance still scheduled for the end of the week. this system doesn't look particularly robust, but it may be enough to push out some of this remnant moisture as it passes by. it's at least something worth keeping our eyes on, even if we don't get our hopes up just yet.
MONDAY NIGHT: partly cloudy this evening, then becoming mostly clear overnight.
low: 16C (60F)
TUESDAY: partly sunny in the morning. mostly cloudy in the PM with a risk of a thundershower.
high: 21C (70F)
WEDNESDAY: periods of sun, periods of clouds. slight chance of a PM shower or thundershower.
high: 22C (71F)
THURSDAY: still a mix of sun and clouds. a thundershower possible in the afternoon.
high: 21C (70F)
FRIDAY: partly to mostly cloudy skies with a good chance of a couple of thundershowers.
high: 21C (70F)
SATURDAY: scattered showers and thunderstorms in the area. otherwise, partly cloudy skies.
high: 20C (68F)
