anticipation... (am.7.oct.11)>

thin, high clouds are streaming in from the west early this morning, which will dim the sun as it rises over the mountains shortly.  the overnight low has been 61.7F (16.5C), and our humidity is currently 83%.

the upper-level disturbance we've been talking about and waiting for is moving into northern pakistan, and will make its way across northern india during the coming 48 hours or so.  it isn't a very strong system, but with this moisture still in place, it won't take much dynamic energy to get a couple of rounds of thunderstorms going as we head into the weekend.  be sure to be aware and prepared if you plan to be in the mountains away from shelter.

there is widespread consensus that drier air will be filtering in, as this system passes by.  i'm still in a "believe it when i see it" mode, so it will be interesting to see if we will get to experience a significant change in the look and feel of our airmass once sunday rolls around.  temperatures will continue to depend on sunshine... warm when it's shining, and on the chilly side during periods of thick clouds and/or thunderstorms.
