we have partly cloudy skies at sunrise this morning, with the humidity at 83%. it wasn't quite as cool overnight as it has been the past few nights... i recorded a low temp of 61.2F (16.2C). rainfall up here on tushita road just below the mountaineering center wasn't enough to measure yesterday, but that's probably not the case in other parts of town, due to the spotty showers in the afternoon/evening.
i've been desperately searching for something that would be an indication that our weather pattern might change for the better, but am coming up empty-handed. if you've been following the blog regularly, you know the story. left-over low-level moisture along the mountains. morning sun heating up the surface. a northwesterly flow aloft embedded with weak disturbances. all of that adds up to day after day with the same general result.
mornings continue to be best... with some cloudy, foggy, gloomy periods from the mid-day into the evening hours. and a few showers and rumbles of thunder wandering through during the later half of the day as well. we're watching a slightly stronger upper-level system which will approach by the end of the week. but at this point, it doesn't look like it will be potent enough to jolt us out of these doldrums...
MONDAY: a mix of sun and clouds... with some areas of fog and a chance of a thundershower during the PM.
high: 21C (69F)
MONDAY NIGHT: a shower or two in the vicinity during the evening, then clearing after dark.
low: 16C (60F)
TUESDAY: partly sunny skies. risk of an afternoon shower or thundershower.
high: 21C (70F)
WEDNESDAY: partly sunny with a slight chance of a PM thundershower.
high: 21C (70F)
THURSDAY: still the mix of sun and clouds... chance of a thundershower.
high: 21C (70F)
FRIDAY: partly to mostly cloudy with a good chance of a couple of showers and/or thunderstorms.
high: 20C (68F)
