we're enjoying sunny skies this evening, at the end of what has turned out to be a very nice day. the high temp on tushita road just below the mountaineering center reached 70.2F (21.2C) early this afternoon. humidity has been steadily dropping all day... to near 50% this evening.
despite the moderate build-up of clouds over the mountains this afternoon, there has been no shower or thunderstorm development so far today. an upper-level disturbance is moving through the area right now, but despite the "spin" in the upper atmosphere, and the dynamic energy associated with it, there is just not enough moisture available to get anything going. there's still a slight chance of a passing shower or brief bit of thunder overnight, and again saturday afternoon, but it doesn't look like much to get concerned about.
the next batch of drier air is already filtering into the area, which will keep humidity as low or lower than we've seen so far this season... and that should continue well into the new week. temperatures will drop slightly, but should remain a shade above normal for the middle of october. other than afternoon mountain clouds, sunshine should be easy to come by for at least a few days...
FRIDAY NIGHT: other than a slight risk of a brief thundershower overnight, skies should be mostly clear.
low: 14C (58F)
SATURDAY: morning sunshine, then becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. an isolated PM thundershower??
high: 21C (70F)
SUNDAY: sunny to partly cloudy and mild.
high: 21C (70F)
MONDAY: mostly sunny skies.
high: 21C (69F)
TUESDAY: sunshine with some PM mountain clouds.
high: 21C (69F)
WEDNESDAY: a mix of sun and clouds... slightly cooler
high: 20C (68F)
