a perfect autumn morning is shaping up... skies are clear at sunrise, after a mild overnight low of 61.7F (16.5C). there was a brief shower last night around 9pm, but there has been nothing measurable in my rain gauge, not only in the past 24 hours but for the past one week. this morning's humidity reading is comfortable, at 55%.
our "cautious optimism" of the past several days seems to have been rewarded. the weak upper-level disturbance that has been passing through northern india since late friday has helped to chase most of the remaining moisture away, allowing much drier air from the northwest to filter in, in its wake. normally, this occurs by the last week of september, but this year we've had to exercise unprecedented patience!
there have been scattered thunderstorms in the mountains during the last two afternoons, but here in the immediate dharamsala area, we didn't catch much of the action... just some thunder on friday afternoon, and that brief shower last night. there may still be enough instability this afternoon to stir up a passing thundershower, so continue to be prepared for that, especially if you have plans to be hiking and trekking.
the week ahead is looking very nice... with more consistent sunshine than we've had all season, comfortable humidity levels, and temperatures which should remain warmer than normal for october. enjoy...
SUNDAY: lots of morning sunshine. becoming partly cloudy by afternoon, with a chance of a passing thundershower.
high: 22C (72F)
SUNDAY NIGHT: slight chance of an evening shower, then rapidly clearing.
low: 16C (61F)
MONDAY: sunny in the morning, partly cloudy in the afternoon.
high: 22C (72F)
TUESDAY: mostly sunny and pleasant.
high: 22C (72F)
WEDNESDAY: sunshine and a few clouds. warm for october.
high: 23C (73F)
