Sunday's Stats:
Early morning low temp: 61.2F (16.2C)
Afternoon high temp: 72.0F (22.2C)
Rainfall: trace
Our relatively mild October continues, for the time being. Temperatures remain a few degrees above normal, as we continue to await a healthy surge of colder air to spill over the Himalayas from central Asia.
There was yet another round of afternoon thundershowers along the leading edge of the Dhauladars early this afternoon. The thunder sounded quite threatening between about 1:00 and 2:00pm, but there were never more than a few sprinkles of rain at my location in the upper part of town -- very similar to many days we've experienced during the past week or so.
Computer models still advertise a slightly stronger upper-level disturbance during the coming 12-48 hours, which will cause our chances of measurable rain to creep upward a bit. Available moisture in this air mass is nothing to get excited about, but there could be enough dynamic energy and upward "lift" as this system passes by to generate a round or two of more widespread thundershower activity. Even so, I don't expect rainfall amounts to be very impressive... generally less than a half inch (1cm).
A general west-northwesterly flow of drier and slightly cooler air is expected for the latter half of the week.
