It's another perfect autumn evening, after what could easily be called a perfect final day of October. We've seen less and less cumulus cloud development over the mountains over the course of the past several days, and today, the sunshine was pretty much unlimited. This afternoon's high temp matched yesterday's, so our recent warm-up appears to have plateaued -- for now.
General high pressure is expected to remain in control from the surface into the middle and upper levels of the atmosphere until Saturday, and that will keep us in this mostly sunny and warmer-than-normal mode. Rain chances are very close to zero as we approach the weekend, while temperatures could rise another couple of degrees -- both overnight lows and afternoon highs.
Some pockets of colder air aloft will begin to filter into northern India by late Saturday and Sunday which will increase our instability a bit, while halting the warming trend that has been going on for more than a week. There still doesn't appear to be much of a chance of significant rainfall on the horizon; nor does a dramatic cooling trend look likely any time soon...
