a quiet weekend... (pm.26.oct.12)>

Friday's stats:

Early morning low temp: 54.1F (12.3C)
Afternoon high temp: 63.1F (17.3C)
Rainfall: none

Pockets of very cold air remain in the upper-atmosphere across northern India this evening, and that has ignited a few thundershowers to our east... from Kinnaur into Uttarakhand.  Around here, all we managed was a healthy build-up of mountain clouds which are gradually dissipating at sunset.  Temperatures today have been very similar to yesterday's.

We're still anticipating a pattern shift over the weekend into at least the first half of next week.  High pressure will be forming aloft, which will be characterized by warmer temps throughout all layers of the atmosphere, along with generally stable conditions.  At this point, it looks like even the risk of isolated mountain showers will diminish for several days.

Temperatures have been pretty close to end-of-October norms since Wednesday, but we have a very good chance of closing out the month a few degrees above normal.  The month has also been MUCH drier than normal, and it should be hard to come up with anything to counter that trend...
