Monday's stats:
Early morning low temp: 60.4F (15.8C)
Afternoon high temp: 71.2F (21.6C)
Rainfall: none
I only heard a couple of faint rumbles of thunder today -- around 2:15pm -- but I don't think there were any raindrops at all in the immediate McLeod area. There could have been a light shower further up the mountain, however. Humidity was down just a bit today, mainly in the 50-65% range, but that's actually still a bit above normal for this stage of October.
A weak but stubborn trough of low pressure in the upper-levels of the atmosphere remains situated over extreme northern India, and it looks like this feature isn't going anywhere during the coming several days. Sunshine will continue to dominate the mornings, but we'll see mountain cloud development during the mid-day hours, leading to the risk of an odd thundershower or two during the afternoons -- right through the 5-day forecast period. Temperatures should be comfortably cool at night, but pleasantly mild while the sun is in control.
All in all, it's still a really nice scenario, as we would expect this time of year... just be prepared for a sudden downpour and the accompanying sharply cooler temperatures, especially if you happen to be venturing up toward Triund and beyond.
