There are some patches of clouds around just after sunrise this morning... more clouds than we've seen at sunrise for the past 10 days or more. It is also the coolest morning of the month -- I've recorded a low temp of 56.8F (13.8C). There has been no rainfall during the past 24 hours, despite the clouds.
An upper-level disturbance is centered pretty much right overhead this morning. The counter-clockwise circulation and large pool of cold air aloft is going to keep our atmosphere on the unstable side through the day, which will give us a continuing risk of some shower or thundershower development. Due to the limited moisture in the air, I'm not expecting any really significant rainfall... but it's a good idea to be prepared for some showers popping up throughout the day, until this system clears off to the east tonight.
A westerly flow in the mid- and upper-levels will dominate our weather pattern for the remainder of the week. It should be a dry and mostly sunny period, apart from isolated afternoon thundershower development in the mountains. Temperatures have cooled a bit during the past 24 hours, and should be a little closer to mid-October norms as we approach the weekend.
