Saturday's stats:
Early morning low temp: 59.4F (15.2C)
Afternoon high temp: 71.2F (21.8C)
Rainfall: none
There's a nice dusting of snowfall on the Dhauladars, thanks to thundershowers in the mountains above town during the early to mid-afternoon hours. I heard some faint thunder here in McLeod around 1:30pm or so, but never observed any rainfall. Humidity was actually lower today than at any time during the past week... all the way down as low as 42%.
Ripples of circulation and pockets of colder air aloft (evidenced by the snowfall) continue to move from west to east across northern India -- leading to consistent development of big clusters of cumulus clouds and a few random thundershowers along the front ranges of the mountains. It looks like a somewhat stronger weather system will sweep through the area between late Sunday and Tuesday, which could increase our chances of more widespread showers for a few hours sometime during that period. Be on the lookout for rapidly changing weather conditions during mainly the afternoon hours the next few days.!
Computer models are showing drier and more stable air invading the western Himalayan region by the middle of next week. If that holds true, we may see a decrease in the afternoon cloud/thunder potential, humidity dropping even further, along with another couple of degrees drop in temperatures.
