wednesday morning>

the upper-level disturbance we've been talking about recently is spinning over western kashmir this morning. as it moves east-southeast and weakens, it will bring us a continuing chance of a few showers and thunderstorms during the next 24-36 hours or so. be on the lookout for rapid and sudden changes both today and thursday, in between periods of sunshine. as this system moves out, a rather strong ridge of high pressure will build in... and that will bring us warmer temperatures, lower chances of "spoiler" thunderstorms, and increasing amounts of sunshine as we head into the weekend.

*MONSOON WATCH** according to the india meteorological department, the northern limit of the monsoon has stalled across central india. in the last couple of days it has failed to make much of a push further to the north... which is now putting it 3-5 days behind normal schedule. we'll have to keep a close eye on it to see if that will mean a delay in the onset for us... most likely it will surge northward again after a few days... so our arrival date of 28-29 june still looks pretty good. will update regularly...
