after a gorgeous wednesday, thunder clouds are gathering on the western horizon. it looks like we'll be dodging some hit and miss thunderstorms as we move into the evening hours. temperatures were much warmer today (25c/77f at the weathergeek headquarters), and that warming trend will continue all the way into the weekend. the upper-air pattern is kind of a mess... meaning, little disturbances and ripples and cold pockets aloft... and that will contribute to at least a mentionable chance of scattered showers or thunderstorms on each and every day of the extended forecast period. the vast majority of the coming days will be dry, with sunshine... but if your plans include treks and hikes and picnics, keep an eye to the sky and be prepared for sudden changes...
