Skies are cloudy to start our Monday, and it's very mild for a mid-January morning. Temperatures continued to slowly climb overnight -- all the way to 50.2F (10.1C) just before 7:00am. Despite all the clouds, humidity is quite low at 35%. There has been no precipitation since last report. And HAPPY LOHRI to those who celebrate...
Our weather pattern has been in a constant state of flux recently, and that should continue to be the case during this coming week. Right now we have a weak upper-level disturbance moving into northern Pakistan which will gradually trek across northern India during the next 24-36 hours. There will probably be some shower development today, tonight and early on Tuesday, but the most significant rain and snow will most likely be in the higher mountain elevations to our north and northeast. Still... keep in mind the risk of a few mainly light rain showers in and around McLeod until perhaps mid-day Tuesday.
Another system is waiting in the wings for Friday, and will bring us another risk of some showers. But in between we'll see a mix of clouds and sun, along with temperatures running a bit above normal for this time of year -- which is actually the coldest period of the entire year on average. Still no sign of a major snow-producing winter storm for us, but with this changeable pattern, there's no guarantee that something won't develop before the month is over...
