pleasantness holds on... (pm.13.mar.15)>

Friday's stats:

Low temp: 51.8F (11.0C)
High temp: 63.3F (17.4C)
Precipitation: none

It's really nice when the weather turns out to be even better than expectations, and that has definitely been the case today.  Although we've had some high clouds in the area again, it seems the sun held on even stronger than it has the last couple of days; and I recorded the warmest high temp of the month of March at my location in the upper part of town.  If you were hanging out in the direct sunshine, it felt a lot warmer than the actual air temp indicates.  As sunset approaches this evening, we have partly cloudy skies.

Earlier in the week it had looked like we might have some showers breaking out by now, but our next storm system is very slow to get organized, with the center of circulation still hovering well to our southwest -- over extreme southwestern Pakistan.  A very disorganized patchwork of mid- and high-level clouds continues to develop and move across mainly the northwest half of India, but there has been very little precipitation development, if any, anywhere close to us thus far.  This is just fine... as it keeps us enjoying this relatively pleasant mid-March weather for a little while longer.

Although the risk of some scattered rain showers will increase tomorrow (Sat), I still don't think there will be anything of much consequence before tomorrow night at the earliest... and possibly not until sometime on Sunday.  In fact, a couple of computer models are even waiting until Sunday night before the really significant rain and thunderstorms get going.  Once that rain/thunder sets in though, it will probably be late Monday night or early Tuesday before it tapers off.  Of course our temps will cool off dramatically in response.

Better weather is on the way again toward the middle of next week, and right now it looks like it might continue through next weekend as well.  If we can get lucky...
