Sunday's stats:
Low temp: 66.0F (18.9C)
High temp: 68.9F (20.5C)
Rainfall: 0.43" (1.1cm)
We're socked in with clouds and fog as sunset approaches this evening, but other than some spotty very light drizzle, there's no rain happening at the moment. We did finally snap our mini- dry streak around noon today, with some light to moderate rain showers that lasted for a couple of hours. Humidity has been between 93-100% all day, and as you can see from the stats above, the thermometer didn't move very much.
Although we have picked up some rain today, our daily rainfall rates have diminished significantly during the past four days or so, allowing the August total to stop rising as dramatically as it was during the first seven or eight days of the month. Check the MONSOON 2013 RAINFALL tab above for the current rainfall status for this monsoon season so far.
The general trend should be toward heavier rains as we head toward the middle of this new week. The combination of variables here along the front slopes of the mountains to produce longer-lasting heavy rainfall should be coming together -- including the first upper-level disturbance drifting in from the west that we've seen in several weeks. Be aware of the increasing potential for very heavy downpours this week, which could quickly fill up rain gauges!
