mega-moisture... (am.09.aug.13)>

*Update @ 8:43am... I've got another 0.21" (5mm) of rain in the past hour or so.  A north breeze has chased the fog away -- for now.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
It is totally foggy early this morning, with the humidity remaining pegged at 100%.  My temperature here in the upper part of town is 66.5F (19.2C).  Right now there is just some drizzle and random drops of rain, but we've had periods of light to moderate rain overnight, delivering 0.54" (1.4cm) since last report.  I haven't had any other reports yet this morning, but according to satellite pics, it looks like there could have been much heavier rain further south, and even into Punjab.

This is the point in the season when only a few are able to maintain their sanity.  The humidity hasn't budged much below 100% for days now, the fog has prevailed for the vast majority of the time, and it is next to impossible to get laundry to dry.  My doors are swelling and bulging as they soak up moisture, and will barely close.  Mold and mildew is difficult to keep at bay under these conditions as well.  We were lucky to have a fairly easy July, but August has been another story.

If you're longing for some relief, I don't have much good news.  There are no hints at all of any significant changes in the general weather pattern right into the middle of next week.  The air will remain very near the saturation point as deep tropical moisture continues to be pumped up against the mountains -- and the potential for periods of heavy rain will stay in the forecast.  As I mentioned last evening, heavy downpours could occur at any time of the day or night.

There's little variety to see, but the CURRENT FORECAST can be found on the tab above.
