more to come... (pm.08.aug.13)>

*Update @ 8:24pm...  The drizzle has turned into steady light rain during the past half hour or so, and satellite pics are showing some development occurring pretty much right on top of us since about 6:30-7:00pm.  Most of the rainfall during the past couple of days has occurred at night, so I guess this is right on schedule.  Now heavier rain just as I get ready to post this...

---------------------------------------------------------------
Thursday's stats:

Low temp: 64.9F (18.3C)
High temp: 70.9F (21.6C)
Rainfall since midnight: 0.65" (1.7cm) -- as of 8:20pm

We got some short bursts of sunshine during the middle of this afternoon, but it's cloudy and foggy again this evening as sunset approaches.  The rain showers have been few and far between, with only 0.03" (1mm) of rain since this morning's report.  That could change at a moment's notice, however.

Although we continue to hover right at the saturation point with humidity close to 100%, the rainfall has definitely eased up during the past 36 hours or so.  The resolution of the computer models isn't detailed enough to pick up on the intricacies, but obviously we're lacking the right dynamics to squeeze this moisture out of the air in the form of heavy rain -- at least temporarily.  In this kind of environment, it won't be long until it happens again, so be prepared for a sudden inch or two of rain at any time as we head into the weekend.

Conditions don't appear to be changing in any significant way all the way into at least the first part of next week.  That means a healthy downpour or even an extended period of moderate to heavy rain will never be too far away, as we maintain a near or slightly above normal rainfall rate for the month of August.

The CURRENT FORECAST for the next five days can be found on the tab at the top of the page.
