*Update @ 8:50pm... It's a beautiful star-studded evening. Can't remember the last time I saw so many stars. There have been some big patches of fog trying to climb uphill, and the humidity remains near 100%, which means the moisture in the air is just waiting (latently) to manifest itself once again. But at least for now... no rain.

Monday's stats:
Low temp: 65.1F (18.4C)

Rainfall since midnight: 0.60" (1.5cm)
The sun has been trying to make an appearance this evening, starting right around 5pm, after a cloudy, foggy, and generally rainy day. Although rainfall amounts (at least at my location) weren't heavy, it did rain for the vast majority of the day and umbrellas were getting a workout. Once again, the thermometer was NOT getting a workout, as temperatures remained fairly steady all day long.
On balance, all the computer model data points to a better chance of some heavier rainfall amounts during the coming few days, but I'm less than impressed, to be honest. Although there is obviously plenty of moisture around, the overall dynamics appear a bit disorganized. I think there will definitely be some locally heavy rainfall totals this week, but we'll just have to watch to see how it all comes together. All in all -- par for the course for the middle of August.
Pulses and surges of tropical moisture remain in full swing, and are not anywhere close to easing up during the next week to 10 days, according to extended range data/info. The best we can hope for will be a few hours or an isolated day here and there to temporarily dry out, as this monsoon season presses on....
