Monday's stats:
Low temp: 66.0F (18.9C)
High temp: 70.0F (21.1C)
Rainfall: 0.54" (1.3cm) -- updated at 7:25pm
It's cloudy and foggy this evening, with some hefty rain showers roaming the area. There continues to be a staggering disparity between rainfall amounts up here in McLeod, versus downhill in the Dharamsala area. In the past 48 hours or so, we've had relatively minor amounts up here, compared to their very heavy downpours which continue to deliver several inches of rain very quickly. That's why we often say, anytime of the year, weather conditions can be worlds apart between here and there.
The temperature didn't really move much today, thanks to the clouds, fog and humidity which held very close to 100% most of the time. It has definitely been dank and dreary and maybe even a bit depressing today.
Monsoon conditions are amping up again, and should be pretty close to full strength as we progress through this week -- even into the weekend. The air mass really can't hold any more moisture than it is already being forced to hold, and that means occasional periods of heavy rain will be more and more likely. Here in the immediate McLeod Ganj area, it shouldn't be difficult to pick up at least 8-10" (20-25cm) of rain by late Saturday or Sunday.
