Sunday's stats:
Low temp: 65.3F (18.5C)
High temp: 72.1F (22.3C)
Rainfall: 0.01" (less than 1mm)
It's been a very uneventful day, for a change, at least here in McLeod and points above. There has only been some drizzle and a few brief, light showers -- barely enough to register in my rain gauge. Thunder late this afternoon stayed mainly to our south and east. It's mostly cloudy before sunset this evening with some occasional fog, but also a few fleeting glimpses of sun.
The large-scale weather pattern will change very little over the course of the coming week, but as minor variations occur here along the mountains we'll likely be in and out of the waves of heavy rainfall which will be developing again. In fact, the Monday night through Wednesday period still looks ripe for the potential for widespread heavy rain, so keep that in mind if you have plans to be traveling during that time.
According to historical averages, we're still in the middle of the peak weeks of monsoon season, so we're really not getting anywhere close to the end. I would estimate that we've only received around half (or slightly more) of the rainfall that we'll get before the middle of September rolls around.
