a week of warming... (pm.13.mar.11)>

for a switch, we have totally clear skies over the mountains early this evening, with a band of clouds (the high, thin variety) in the southern and western sky.  today was indeed the warmest day of 2011... i recorded a high temp of 64.6F (18.1C) at the top of mcleod ganj.

...and this is only the beginning... our warming trend will get even more aggressive during the coming few days, with high temps likely to top 21C (70F) as far up the mountain as dharamkot and naddi.!  a late spring / early summer-like ridge of high pressure continues to build and strengthen, and will effectively keep the atmosphere stable and rain-free.  today was the first day in a long time when cumulus clouds failed to develop over the mountains... evidence of the warming aloft.

looks like a good week to do some spring cleaning, attend the teachings, or maybe get out for some hiking...
