we have mostly clear skies just before sunrise, with a temp of 48.6F (9.2C). and we finally cashed in on that "random" shower that has been in the forecast for the last few days... it came between 3.00 and 4.00am, and delivered 0.04" (1mm) of rain, along with a couple of healthy claps of thunder.
the pool of cold air aloft which is responsible for the rain/sleet showers up at triund yesterday afternoon, and our brief thundershower very early this morning, is sitting right on top of us now... although there is very little on the satellite photos to indicate its presence. what it will do, though, is create enough instability to keep the chance of showers (thunder?) in the forecast once again today... until it moves east of us and out of the picture tomorrow.
otherwise, we should see our standard mixture of sunshine and clouds again today and tomorrow... THEN, even more dramatic changes are on the way. it looks like there is going to be a massive warm-up in all levels of the atmosphere, from the surface, all the way up to the jet stream level, as we head into the weekend. also, sunshine should become even more abundant than it has been recently...
WEDNESDAY: partly sunny skies... with a chance of another shower or thundershower. a bit cooler.
high: 14C (58F)
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: a brief evening shower possible... then becoming mostly clear.
low: 10C (50F)
THURSDAY: partly to mostly sunny.
high: 16C (61F)
FRIDAY: mostly sunny and very pleasant.
high: 18C (64F)
SATURDAY: lots of sunshine... warming up.
high: 19C (66F)
SUNDAY: sunshine, along with unseasonably warm temps!
high: 20C (68F)
