we have crystal clear skies before sunrise this morning, with a temp of 50.5F (10.3C) to start the day. satellite photos show only a few scattered clouds from pakistan into northern india at the moment.
yesterday i saw people wandering around in t-shirts and shorts... thanks to the super-balmy warmth of the direct sunlight. it looks like our mild-warmish temperatures might be here to stay, as there is no evidence of any more intrusions of cold air during the next several days. we are getting into the time of year where it will be hard to get more than a day or two of cold weather in a row.
there is still a weak disturbance aloft, which will be moving through northern india during the next 36 hours or so. really, it's a pocket of cold air up around 18-25,000ft (5500-7600m). its presence means that i find it hard to totally remove any chance of random showers during the afternoon... as our warming at the surface could destbilize the atmosphere enough to get something going over the mountains. chances are only in the 20-30% range... but just keep it in mind during the next couple of days.
computer models are hinting at an even more dramatic warm-up starting this weekend!
