skies are totally clear just before the sun rises over the mountains this morning... with a temp of 46.9F (8.3C) to start the day. i picked up another 0.01" (0.3mm) of rain last evening around 9.00pm, bringing the 24-hour total to 0.11" (3mm).
i'm feeling a little nervous today... although it is bright and calm at the moment, that menacing pool of cold air aloft has shifted only slightly to the east since late yesterday. that means as soon as the sun starts working on the atmosphere, we could see clouds blossom over the mountains once again, which could lead to a few sprinkles, brief showers, and perhaps some thunder. on the other hand, temperatures aloft are going to be warming rapidly starting later today, and continuing all the way into early next week... and that could tip the balance in favor of a drier, sunnier day. anyway, for those of you out and about participating in uprising day activities (among other things), just keep in mind that our beautiful early morning could turn sour on us again!
after today, then things are more cut-and-dried... a big area of high pressure from the surface into the upper atmosphere is going to gradually establish itself from the arabian sea into western and northern india. this is a classic fair weather pattern for us... and also a classic warming-trend pattern. so... it looks like we are going to be taking another giant step toward spring-time... starting this weekend.!
THURSDAY: sunny early... but becoming partly to mostly cloudy with a risk of one or two showers or thundershowers from mid-day into the afternoon.
high: 16C (60F)
THURSDAY NIGHT: slight chance of a shower/t-shower in the evening... then becoming clear.
low: 9C (48F)
FRIDAY: partly to mostly sunny skies.
high: 17C (62F)
SATURDAY: plenty of sunshine... warming up.
high: 19C (66F)
SUNDAY: mostly sunny... super nice day!
high: 20C (68F)
MONDAY: continued mostly sunny and unseasonably warm.
high: 20C (68F)
