a bit of everything... (am.29.mar.11)>

we have mostly cloudy skies this morning, with a temp of 60F (15.6C).  since last evening's report, i've picked up 0.06" (1.5mm) of rainfall... thanks to the occasional thundershowers which have been rumbling around.

the upper-level disturbance responsible for our clouds and showers is now centered right along the pakistan/kashmir border, and will move slowly east today and tonight as it weakens.  in spite of the fact that this is a fairly weak system, it has enough energy (and pool of cold air aloft) to keep things rather unstable today.  we have at least a 50/50 chance of another round of thundershowers... but as we've seen... moisture is limited, and rainfall amounts shouldn't be heavy.

the rest of the week will be a bit brighter, but only slightly.  the upper-air flow will remain filled with little wiggles and wrinkles, any of which could touch off periods of clouds and a thundershower or two.  on the other hand, i do expect the sun to appear regularly as well... and when it does, temperatures will respond, and easily make it back into the low-mid 70sF (low-mid 20sC).  this kind of weather is pretty much right on par for this time of year...
