warming trend to resume... (pm.10.mar.11)>

we have partly cloudy skies prior to sunset this evening, after a sunny morning, and then some clouds and a few sprinkles during the mid- to late afternoon.  i recorded a high temp of 59.2F (15.1C), with just a trace of rainfall.

although not as dark and ominous as yesterday, we did get the build-up of clouds over the mountains again this afternoon... thanks to the (now departing) pool of very cold air in the upper atmosphere which has been hanging around for the past 2-3 days.  this has put our springtime weather on "pause"... but during the next few days, we'll resume the progression toward nicer conditions.

there will be a huge ridge of high pressure developing from the arabian sea into the western half of india during the next week... and that is going to cause temperatures in all levels of the atmosphere to begin warming dramatically.  it will also effectively cut off any instability, and end the precipitation chances for a while.  it looks like we'll be experiencing ABOVE normal temperatures by sunday, for a change...
